Location 4 - Hoba

This large but shallow pan situated near Hoba village was luke warm. The water had the feel of thin mud and half the pan was cultivated with rice. This pan produced an abundance of Nothobranchius. Although not as large as Location 2 these were big fish. The colouration is similar, but not the same as Abrahamu (Location 2).

I unfortunately did not have a thermometer with me but the water was warm enough to take a bath in. Once again the ratio of males to females was about 1 male to 10 females. Now totally exhausted we headed for base and a cold beer.
