Which food to choose

Postby bgangler » Sat Apr 28, 2012 12:53 pm

Hi there,

just a quick question: I have got a pair of pseudepiplatys annulatus and I wonder what the best food for them will be. I know that the fruit flies are probably the best and most natural along with the mosquito larvas, but I don't have much of spare time and also my better half will not be happy, if stinky jars, with crawling or wiggling creatures are placed in the kitchen :) Can I use the decapsulated artemia eggs for a main food? The vinegar eels any good? Where do I get a starting culture from?

Thank you in advance!

Baby brine shrimp and a small soft microgranulate worked well for me. They would also take chopped blood worm. Fruit flies are probably a bit too big for them.

Thank you! I will setup a brine shrimp hatchery, will try probably the decapsulated eggs as well and some grindal worms time to time. I have also found that they like the green fly, which has infested some of our house plants, so I have an alternative too :)
